Wow, do I have kids old enough to sew? I guess I do.
Here is Ariana intently working on the hem of her pillow case.
They each got to pick out their own choice of fabric. They made cool choices!
Ariana got the hang of it really fast. She loves to do anything creative.
The moment of truth.......turning in right-side-out for the first time.
Inspecting her stitches. Perfect!
The girls both chose Strawberry Shortcake. Ahh, girls after my own heart!!!
Sister Snuggles
Now it is brother's turn!
Ryan was all business! Zoom, Zoom ->->->->->and he was done. I tell ya, I didn't know boys could be so good at sewing. I guess a sewing machine is still a machine!
And this boy IS good with machines.
" See, Mom! I told ya I would be good at this. Now can I got back to the computer?"
Not before mom gets some pictures of her boys.
Brother Bundles!
And of course........what would it be without a little pillow-fight!
Jaren will be bigger than you someday, Ryan!! Look at those smiles!
I think he has you now!
And Mom calls a time out. Let's go have some muffins............anyone? That'll get their attention.
And this boy IS good with machines.
So, that is one way we like to spend our Saturdays. What do you do for fun?

Love the idea of getting your kids sewing using pillow cases. You always have such good project ideas. Our new favorite Saturday activity is making caramel popcorn and watching movies. We also got really brave one day and made a paper mache covered balloon that was supposed to be a pinata but didn't get that far.
Wow, that's awesome that your kids are sewing! You have far more patience than I can ever hope for! I love Ariana's concentration. The only thing I can think of that we do every saturday is baths. We're boring!
That's so cool that your kids want to sew and be crafty. You are an awesome mom for being patient enough to help them make pillow cases!
Oh, and mom just got me that apple fabric from Walmart and I made the curtains from it. I love them! Eventually I want my whole kitchen theme to be apples.
That's great that your boys would sew. I sewed with my Webelos troop last year. They were more afraid of the sewing machine than they were of the blow torch we'd used the week before!
Cute pillow cases!! Looks like you got a new machine. Remember how we used to set up two machines and sew two of everything? I'd sew a seam and you would copy it. That way you ended up with two new outfits and along the way you learned to sew!!!! Love to see that it means something to have your kids sew too.
Love the project. I will be making some soon for little Jason's room. As far as activities we have different ones depending on the day. Monday is Family day we do a lot of fun things together cooking, playing, reading. Tuesday's is Trash day. We all work on our own areas to help keep out the trash. And so on Saturday's is Suprise day some days I take Jason in and let him bake, or take a nice drive.
that is a cool idea to get kids to learn to sew.... sadly i don't know how to sew and i think i broke my machine hee-hee
